How to Message Brands on Amazon Creator Connections (and Get More Free Products to Review)

More free products means more review videos and more commissions. Here's how I message brands on Creator Connections in one click.

How to Message Brands on Amazon Creator Connections (and Get More Free Products to Review)

If you're an Amazon Influencer, messaging brands inside Creator Connections has one main purpose: getting as many free products to review as possible. More products means more review videos, and more review videos means more commissions.

I take this seriously. In about two months, I collected a huge pile of free products just by messaging brands inside Creator Connections. In this post, I'll walk you through the three easiest ways to connect with brands, and then show you the simplest way to message brands on Creator Connections, down to sending a personalized message in one click.

The 3 Main Ways Brands Connect With Amazon Influencers

Before we get into Creator Connections, it helps to know that brands can find you in three primary ways.

1. Creator Connections

This is Amazon's own platform for matching brands with influencers, and it's the focus of this post. More on it below.

2. Your Email Inbox

Brands will email whatever address is tied to your Amazon Influencer account. This doesn't always start right away, but as you upload more videos to your storefront, you'll start seeing emails about product video collaborations.

I set up an inbox just for Amazon Influencer work, which keeps everything organized. When a brand reaches out, I reply with a saved template that's very basic: I'm interested, here's my name, email, phone number, and shipping address.

Yes, you do need to share your physical address. Brands can't ship you products otherwise. I've never had any issues doing this.

3. Your Social Media Channel

Brands will also try to reach you through whatever social channel is linked to your Amazon storefront. My tip: link a channel that's easy to message on, like Instagram or TikTok. You don't have to link the same channel you were approved with. YouTube in particular is hard for brands to message you through, so keep that in mind.

Bonus: UGC Brand Collaboration Apps

Apps like Levanta, Stack Influence, and JoinBrands work a lot like Creator Connections. They bring brands and creators together, but for collaborations outside of Amazon. They're worth exploring once you've got the basics down.

How to Message Brands Inside Creator Connections

Step 1: Go to the New Opportunities Tab

Head into Creator Connections and stay on the New Opportunities tab. These are campaigns you haven't opted into yet, and they're usually new. It's much easier to get free products from a brand when its campaign has just started or is about to start.

I like to sort by the newest campaigns or by recommended campaigns as a starting point.

Step 2: Open a Campaign and Click "Message Brand"

Click into a campaign. After a moment, a Message Brand button will appear. Click it and you'll get a message box where you can write to the brand.

Step 3: Don't Skip Campaigns That Say "No Samples"

Some campaigns list whether samples will be provided by the brand, and most of the time the answer is no. Message them anyway. Very often, if you just ask, there's a good chance they'll say yes.

The Shortcut: Send Your Message in One Click

Typing a fresh message for every brand gets old fast. Here's how I speed it up using ReviewPro, my Chrome tool for Amazon Influencers.

  1. Click Add Templates to open the template box.
  2. Write a message you can reuse every time.
  3. Use Values to save things like your YouTube channel URL, so you can drop them into any template with one click.
  4. Sign off, add a friendly emoji, name the template, and click Save Template.

Now, on any campaign, just click Insert. Your message drops right into the message box, and you click Send.

My Brand Outreach Template

Here's the message I typically send. Feel free to use it:

Hey, I hope you're doing well! My name is Mark and I'm an active Amazon Influencer creating engaging content. I'd love to collaborate and review your products. If selected, I'll post great content. Here's a link to my storefront. Are you open to a collaboration?

Short, friendly, and it gives the brand everything they need to say yes.

What to Do When a Brand Replies

Here's a real reply I got just six hours after reaching out:

Hi Mark, thank you for reaching out and sharing your storefront. Is there a specific product from our lineup you would like to feature? Please also send your full shipping name and address.

When this happens, ask for their full product list. You can also copy the brand name, search for it under New Opportunities, and see every product they have in an active campaign.

Then go big: ask to review as many products as you can, or prioritize the ones with the highest commission rates.

Set a Daily Outreach Goal

This works best when you're consistent. Start with a goal of messaging 20 to 30 brands a day. Go one by one, click Insert, send your template (tweak it if you want), and keep following up.

Right now, Creator Connections has more campaigns available than it ever has, so there's never been a better time to start.

Final Thoughts

Messaging brands in Creator Connections is one of the easiest ways to keep a steady stream of free products coming in, and every product is another review video that can earn you commissions. Connect with brands through all three channels, save a reusable template, and make outreach a daily habit.
